It's true we can't get back time, but what if we just appreciated having it. Life isn't meant to be a race, or have our days filled with unachievable "to-do" lists.
8 Life Hacks for Creating More Time
#1: BREATHE
Begin by taking a good look at how you're currently utilizing your day. The purpose of the first step is to really be honest with ourselves on where our time is currently being spent.
What takes up the bulk of your day? Is it work like many of us. Sleep like some, or procrastination like me. Or perhaps not enough time in the day to get it all done. At least that's what it sure feels like sometimes.
#2: MAKE A LIST
Grab a pen and some paper or (your phone if you must). But really try and be honest with this activity. I read something years ago; that suggested creating "time blocks". The purpose of making the list, is to show evidence of how much time we have and how we spend it.
Writing it out on real paper activates the conscious experience of "physically writing". It works. I promise!
#3: READ IT!
Sounds basic I know. But seriously; you wouldn't believe how many times I have written a list and didn't even bother to read it or analyze it for that matter. Our brains aren't naturally wired to "want to discipline ourselves."
How is your list looking? The first time, I tried it. I lied to myself! It didn't help me any. Because the very next day; reality was still there with lots of wasted time and energy. I was a habitual procrastinator and perfectionist.
#4: PRIORITISE
What are the absolute things that must get done each day. Once you decide by importance, you are able to create a schedule around making the most of your peak performance times.

#5: BALANCE
Not all tasks can be completed in one day. Designating specific days of the week can also be useful when you're feeling drained or even unproductive. For example. Choosing a self-care day, or running errands, exercising or taking classes. Creating balance is a necessity to Life.
#6: EARLY MORNINGS
Creating a morning routine can be a life changer. This may not be for those who work late nights; however, adding more time in the day will sometimes require getting up earlier to "get the day started". Beginning the day with a walk, or a simple stretch routine can improve productivity and increase mindfulness throughout the day.
#7: ADD SMALL BREAKS
While multitasking is a top talent for the majority, it can also lead to exhaustion. A mind in overdrive performs on auto-pilot. Taking small breaks, allows the brain, like our bodies to rest in order to re-energize.
#8: TUNE OUT!
Last, but not least. Turn it Off! Tuning out of the daily distractions can easily show us how much time we lose; simply entertaining ourselves. Social media, while it can be used as a tool to empower ourselves and others, can also lead to unhealthy distractions that consume our thoughts, even after we've logged off.
Remember to honor yourself in all that you do. Sometimes, making space to simply breathe is a major step in creating more T-I-M-E.
